The FCC is encouraging the public to download the FCC's Speed Test app in an effort to collect comprehensive data on broadband availability across America. The FCC Speed Test app provides a way for consumers to test the performance of their mobile and in-home broadband networks.
In addition to showing network performance test results to the user, the app provides the test results to the FCC. The information collected through the app will help measure the FCC’s efforts to provide improved coverage, including improved coverage resulting from the RDOF program.
The FCC Speed Test App is available for Apple and Android devices.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted up to $16 billion for Phase I of the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund auction, which was closed in November 2020. The remaining Phase I budget, along with another $4.4 billion in funding, will be awarded for Phase II of the auction (dates TBD).
